Our partner, ABN AMRO Clearing, is a global leader in the domain of Clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe.
IT is at the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers.
Their presence in important financial centers like Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo Hong Kong, London, Sao Paulo, Frankfurt and Iasi, allows them to effectively serve clients worldwide and maintain close proximity to their diverse customer base.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Our partner’s CTO Office is responsible for coordinating and guiding large cross-block initiatives within the Platform Grid, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals, and driving technological innovation and stability. They utilize agile tools and frameworks to manage tasks, track progress, and ensure transparency, fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration.
The CTO Office is divided into two main enablers:
- People Enablers: Focus on fostering an agile mindset, enhancing team collaboration, and driving continuous improvement.
- Process Enablers: Drive project coordination, process optimization, and ensure adherence to best practices.
The Platform Grid is a foundational layer within their IT landscape, designed to enable self-service provisioning, configuration, and management of both public and private cloud environments.
It supports a wide array of services including database and middleware operations, infrastructure automation, observability tooling, and platform security, one of the reasons for which candidates should possess a strong affinity for cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift), infrastructure-as-code, etc.
Familiarity with IT control frameworks and DORA compliance would also help, as the platform plays a critical role in ensuring resilience, auditability, and operational efficiency across the organization
Crucially, we are looking for individuals who have played a key role in large-scale infrastructure transformation projects, including platform migrations, cloud adoption, or the rollout of standardized environments across global teams.
As a Strategic Technical Project Manager in the CTO Office (Process Enabler), you will:
- Support the Platform Grid: Work together with the platform grid Product Owners (POs), senior management, and other stakeholders, providing guidance and support in decision-making processes.
- Drive the strategic agenda: Help the Platform Grid achieve its strategic objectives by providing transparent reporting, driving change, and ensuring delivery of strategic key results.
- Strategic Planning: Assist in the development and execution of strategic roadmaps, ensuring that platform initiatives are aligned with the organization's long-term vision.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication and collaboration across the Product & Platform grids, teams and clusters, ensuring seamless integration and knowledge sharing.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on the progress of platform initiatives, identifying & mitigating potential risks next to provide opportunities for improvement.
You will furthermore:
- Host project meetings, daily stand-ups with team and product owners and other stakeholders.
- Manage deadlines, ensure timeliness, follow up with team members and vendors.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
- 5+ years of strong project management experience, especially in strategic IT delivery
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including senior management
- Strategic thinking and planning capabilities
- Fluent in Agile methodologies and tools
- Comfortable navigating Security, Risk, and Regulatory environments
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments can be a plus
- Experience working with IT control frameworks and DORA compliance
- Cross-functional collabor
