A Day in the Life

Your main responsibility as the US Intake and Workflow Product Owner is to provide leadership, strategic direction, and vision to the intake and workflow processes and systems (SFDC). In your daily role, you will be responsible for leading the transformation and enhancements of intake and workflow systems (SFDC). You will collaborate closely with IT, support teams and contracting excellence work streams to gather requirements and understand their needs around the intake and routing of contract requests, workflow management tracking of various deal types or contracting programs, and lifecycle management of the end-to-end contract request process. Your primary focus is to:

• Partner with sales and marketing business leaders, Sales Enablement, Pricing & Contracting, and IT for prioritization of new requests and system changes that are submitted related to intake and workflow management
• Communicate technology changes and new versions of system features to lead trainer in collaboration to communicate and/or create How-to documentation for the support team and our sellers/end users
• Lead team of business analysis and developers to support technical requirements, configurations, optimizations, and modifications
• Innovation and Complexity: Expands new contracting program offers and SFDC usage. Develop innovative ways to implement newly created programs and secondary contracting events that have never been negotiated before to ensure accuracy and efficiency for customer and reporting purposes.
• Maintain relationships with SFDC vendor’s success managers to promote open communication and feedback
• Serve as subject matter expert and a point of escalation for Support teams
• Lead configuration team to ensure the creation and maintenance of documentation, cross-training, and delegation of tasks/activities that are shared experiences
• Coordinate the assignments of more difficult resolutions to the appropriate technical resources

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for planning, initiating, monitoring, tracking and/or prioritizing sales and marketing support projects and process improvement initiatives and facilitate successful, on-time and within budget execution.
  • Sets clear direction and management that aligns with defined practices and policies and enhances the organization's support function necessary to meet established sales or market share targets.
  • Interacts and works closely with other departments, such as not limited to Sales, Marketing, & Global Comms & Corp Marketing to ensure adequate support to the sales and marketing functions.
  • Directs day to day activities for multiple work-stream teams through managing project plans, resourcing, status reporting, resolving issues, identifying project risks and accountability for deliverables across multiple functional organizations.
  • Establishes meaningful metrics.
  • Responsible for project performance, risk management, administration, financial management, budgeting and issue resolution.
  • Influences across functions and businesses while balancing conflicting objectives to gain cooperation of other parties. May interact on issues that have externally opposing objectives
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures
  • Management of user licenses in SFDC
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Develop an understanding of the field sales contracting request mechanisms
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Sales & Marketing, Sales Enablement, Pricing & Contracting, and internal IT groups to define and implement technical solutions
  • Develop a detailed understanding of SFDC core application architecture as well as integrated applications such as CPQ, DocuSign and SAP
  • Collaborate with global team to share best practices and avoid redundant effort
  • Analyze and help resolve system issues: recommend/implement timely solutions
  • Develop strong business acumen, including an understanding of Medtronic products, markets, competitors, customers and business processes
  • Develop and monitor KPIs that provide insights for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities
  • Support SOX compliance activities for approvals and pricing controls
  • Create fields, page layouts, workflows, field updates, record type
