REIMBURSEMENT RESOURCE TEAM LEAD

FULL TIME (MONDAY-FRIDAY 8AM-5PM)

Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire a full-time/Reimbursement Resource Team Leader to join our Business Services Team in the Fort Myers, FL, area. We are looking for a new team member who is -positive, energetic, able to multi-task, and supports our top initiative of ensuring an excellent patient experience!

The Reimbursement Resource Team Leader demonstrates superior communication skills and critical thinking to support problem resolution. S/he is responsible for knowing HIPAA and all MPG and insurance carrier policies and be able to train new staff or update current staff. S/he has the ability to coordinate resolution of claim issues, payer contract to reimbursement reviews, or patient accounts to include payment plans, demographics, money collection, discussion of billing concerns, and financial hardship potential applicants. S/he handles and assists with patient complaint resolution. S/he has a background in physician billing and thorough knowledge of MPG systems. S/he is required to maintain regular communication with the manager to ensure goals and deadlines are met. Additional duties as required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support Reimbursement Resource Representatives in a positive manner with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service to everyone.
  • Ability to perform all competencies of a Reimbursement Resource Representative.
  • Displays excellent phone and listening skills and demonstrates the ability to resolve escalated issues, payer, or patient disputes.
  • Communicates to Manager/Supervisor any patterns identified or in variance with standard established workflow processes.
  • Understands and makes suggestions to improve functionality and outcomes through workflow optimization and/or phone system functionality
  • Ability to provide customer support while simultaneously ensuring appropriate reimbursement is received based upon established contracts and the resolution of claims or outstanding patient balances via payment collection.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of both Practice Management and EMR systems as they apply to daily responsibilities.
  • Conducts monthly performance reviews with employees as well as productivity and/or call quality data through established reporting metrics.
  • Actively participates in team meetings and educational opportunities as well as pro-actively makes recommendations to management on educational needs or tools to allow teams to maximize their knowledge and productivity.
  • Conducts themselves in accordance with MPG Policies and Procedures including the Code of Conduct and as a role model to their team members.

Required Knowledge and Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in the health care and insurance industry and thorough knowledge of insurance carrier billing and reimbursement, CPT, modifiers, and fee schedule differences required.
