About the role

As the Senior Director Business Development, you'll define and analyze critical new business development opportunities, develop and execute capture/growth strategies, and influence stakeholders and customers on win strategies for the strategic focus areas and emerging concepts including the Digital Grid. The Digital Grid is responsible for developing and deploying Mission-tailored integrated solutions for multi-domain operations and joint all-domain command and control (JADC2) capabilities to accelerate the decision cycle and automate the kill-chain relative to adversary abilities.

You’ll report to the Vice President of Digital grid, to support the full opportunity life cycle and develop the win strategy for SNC’s Digital Grid portfolio including AI-driven big data solutions and analytics, SNC Tactical Radio Application Extension (TRAX) software, and next-gen mission system. Your duties will also include staying current on market trends, analyzing competitors, understanding key customer budgets, and aligning solutions to customer needs in support of the Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for required education
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following disciplines: Business development, capture management, program management, DoD acquisition processes, opportunity identification and qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace
  • 10+ years of working knowledge and experience with DoD acquisition processes, including 5+ years leading competitive captures to win multi-million dollar contracts (>$10M)
  • Experience developing account plans, capture plans, and congressional ads for new business opportunities
  • Experience influencing sole source acquisitions and non-traditional methods including OTAs
  • Demonstrated high-energy, tenacious leader who will drive performance and exhibit strong management skills with a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense (Civilian), NASA/Civil or commercial space and/or US Military, with an understanding of defense, aerospace, intelligence, and adjacent markets
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Experience with industry leading IDIQs including FEDSIM ASTRO, FEDSIM OASIS/OASIS+, GSA Schedules and OTA’s and consortiums
  • Advanced skills in assessing outside vendor competitive analysis and price-to-win target setting, by gathering data from multiple, often disparate, qualitative and quantitative sources and synthesizing it into meaningful reports and presentations
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (Oral, written and presentation) and an exquisite attention to detail
  • Demonstrated passion for ideation and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and understand complex technical and program interdependencies
  • Possess a strategic mindset, linking technical solutions and teammates to customer requirements
  • Team oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of US Government budgeting and DoD acquisition processes

Estimated Starting Salary: $194,559.46 - $267,519.25
