As a data strategist, you’re excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set, and you’re fascinated by the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. As a data strategist at Booz Allen, you can turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. We’re looking for a data science lead like you to solve complex challenges and deliver leading-edge solutions for an Army client.

As a data strategist on our Army team, you’ll use your leadership skills and data science expertise to create real-world impact. You’ll work closely with Army enterprise clients to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll guide and mentor your team as you oversee the development of algorithms and systems. You’ll use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to advise your clients as they make informed decisions. As a technical leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to use data science solutions to help your clients meet their toughest challenges. Ultimately, you’ll provide a deep understanding of the data, what it all means, and how it can be used.

You Have: 

• Experience in working with advanced algorithms and machine learning models to produce analytical or visual products for clients 

• Experience with building engineering code using open-source programming languages

• Experience leading data science and literacy initiatives

• Ability to program in an object-oriented language, including Java, C, C++, C#, Haskell, R, or Python 

• Ability to communicate and report findings clearly and concisely for clients 

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

• 5+ years of experience with applying advanced statistics, including natural language processing and machine learning engineering

• Experience with developing machine learning models or Python, C++, and Java code in a team environment for git, GitLab, or GitHub 

• Experience in working with Cloud filesystems, including AWS S3 

• Experience with scaling data across distributed data engineering and computing, including Apache Nifi, Airflow, Spark, Dask, or Luigi  

• Experience with SQL and database technologies, including Elasticsearch, Solr, Impala, Kafka, HBase, Accumulo, Cassandra, Impala, Neo4j, ArangoDB, OrientDB, AWS DynamoDB, Redshift, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Oracle, or MSSQL 

• Experience leading proposal and business development opportunities

• Ability to comprehend advanced statistics in data science for measuring and evaluating machine learning models 

• Master’s degree 

• AWS Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or Solutions Architect Certification
