Pomperaug Woods is recruiting for a hospitality focused overnight Security Guard to join our team! 

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Security Guard: 

• Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property. Patrols inside and outside of the buildings and grounds of community.
• Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
• Keeps all main building, ambulance entrances and sidewalks clear of ice and snow.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Checks and secures all exterior doors and windows as outlined in established checklist.
• Sets door tabs.
• Maintains security rounds, including but not limited to safety inspections, accident/incident, work orders, property damage, unusual occurrences and service requests. Must complete a written report for each shift.
• Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
• Escorts all employees to and from their vehicles after dark. 

Important QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to communicate effectively and perform simple mechanical repairs.
• One year’s experience in security preferred.
