General Notes
Initial assignment will be for one year. Subsequent renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.
Purpose
Perform experiments focused on molecular neuroscience in the lab of Dr. Amy Lee in the Dept. of Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Austin.
Responsibilities
Perform experiments involving molecular, biochemical, or structural analysis.
Perform electrophysiological recordings of ion channels.
Support lab personnel with mouse colony maintenance as needed.
Develop methodology to analyze complex datasets.
Train lab staff to perform above tasks.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biochemistry or related field.
3 years experience working in a research lab.
Experience in patch clamp electrophysiology.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with mouse handling is preferred.
One or more years of laboratory experience.
Salary
$40,000
