Overview
The Stern Area System (SAS) team is looking for an experienced engineer to support component development and system integration and test. SAS is a new submarine system that recently completed its first installation and at sea testing. Because of the success of this initial installation, the Navy has funded Electric Boat to integrate the system into multiple submarine classes.
The team has seen significant growth over the past few years and now requires additional engineering talent. The selected candidate will support the design, development, test, qualification and procurement of the SAS components. They will also support the integration of these components into a system and support testing in the SAS laboratory in Groton and shipboard.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Experience with prototyping and component design
- Experience with component and system test
Preferred:
- Experience with printed circuit board development
- Experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks
- Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW and Arduino
Skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with EB and Navy leadership
- Ability to build mutual trust and lead teams
- Project Management skills (ability to manage several projects at the same time)
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to function independently as well as work in a multi‐discipline team environment
- Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Establishing, evaluating, adjusting and working to priorities in a shifting environment
