Waterslide Attendant (weekends and evenings)

Description

Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Waterslide Attendant ensures the safety of all children using the waterslide at the Stephens Family YMCA.

KNOW-HOW

The Waterslide Attendant will support the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, health living and social responsibility. They will monitor and maintain a safe environment on and around the waterslide.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified applicants must:

• Be a minimum of 15 years of age.
• Demonstrate maturity.
• Have afternoon, night and weekend availability.
• Display confidence when managing children.
• Have adequate vision and hearing to effectively see and hear distress signs.
• Possess or obtain as part of employment First Aid and CPR/AED certification.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise all children using the waterslide.
• Make sound judgements in emergency situations and when enforcing rules regarding the use of the waterslide.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, including completion of proper documentation.
• Help Aquatics staff keep the pool area safe, clean and neat in appearance.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, members or program participants and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
• Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
