We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Senior Advisory Services Consultant. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. Salary
The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $121,008 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Work Arrangements
Flexibility to telecommute two days a week, with three days on-site at the main headquarters in Long Beach, California.

Position Information
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Senior Advisory Services Consultant to conduct and assist with university, Chancellor’s Office and systemwide advisory services reviews to identify solutions for business issues, identify opportunities for increasing operational efficiencies; strengthen business processes and controls, and assist with special requests.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor, the Senior Advisory Services Consultant will perform duties as outlined below:
Advisory and Consulting Services
-Conducts advisory reviews to assess management concerns related to internal controls, governance, risk management or other areas of management interest. Examples of such reviews can include but are not limited to, past audit topics, business process assessments, transition reviews, policy advisement and special studies requested by the university.
-Performs special reviews and consulting services at the request of the Vice Chancellor, Chief Audit Officer.
-Identifies areas of risk and advises management about risk control considerations.
-Identifies opportunities for increasing operational efficiencies and strengthening business processes and controls.
-Documents client processes and procedures and identifies the key control points of the system.
-Conducts interviews and tests; and obtains, analyzes, and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy of controls and the efficiency and effectiveness of the activities being reviewed.
-Conducts and documents the advisory review and prepares reports in accordance with department standards.
-Makes oral or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the advisory review, discussing observations and recommending corrective action to mitigate risks, improve operations and/or reduce costs.
-Prepares adequate documentation supporting all advisory work performed to support the preparation of a written report to management.
-Prepares formal written advisory reports, expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls, processes and business operations/activities reviewed.
Planning and Development
-Surveys functions and activities of assigned advisory reviews to determine the nature of operations and processes and the adequacy of the system of control to achieve established objectives.
-Assists in planning the objectives and scope of the assigned advisory reviews and determines the procedures to be used.
-Develops comprehensive, practical, advisory review programs, including background research; identification and assessment of risks; definition of purpose, scope, and methodology; and corresponding resource materials.
-Keeps abreast of all trends in higher education and new techniques related to consulting and advisory services.
