We are looking for a Senior Risk Manager (m/f/d), based in Munich.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Head of Underwriting Risk and Governance, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating risk management and control activities. This includes managing underwriting risks, leading risk identification meetings, defining and prioritizing actions required to mitigate risks in close collaboration with the business, supporting the business in managing their risks. 

 

Being part of the Risk Management team offers great possibilities to contribute to the strategy of the company, balancing risks and performance and participating in projects that shape our company. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

 

Ensure that underwriting and reinsurance credit risks are effectively managed in terms of identification, measurement and setting of an adequate risk appetite. 

Interactions with the business, in particular the underwriting and technical functions, on risk steering topics including derivation of mitigation actions.  

Actively be involved in driving a strong underwriting governance process 

Drive regular enhancement of processes and addressing of new requirements (regulatory, Group-driven, markets, products etc.) 

Provide input into strategic decision-making, e.g. Strategic Dialogue, Planning Dialogue, business cases. 

Prepare standard and ad-hoc crisp and action-oriented management reports to the according business functions and to the top management.  

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

 

Degree in Actuarial, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or equivalent 

About 5 years of professional experience in P&C Insurance or Reinsurance 

About 3 to 5 years of experience in Risk Management  

Solid understanding of reinsurance market and captive business  

Excellent skills in handling qualitative and quantitative risk assessment 

Knowledge of different credit risk mitigation techniques (e.g. different types of collateralization, security clauses) 

Excellent communication and presentation skills 

Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills 

Solid project steering skills 

Excellent inter-cultural skills with the ability to work in an international environment 

Fluent English skills (in spoken and written)
