What impact you’ll make

A performance test engineer will be executing highly technical services on various gas turbine, steam turbine, and Combined cycle plant configurations.  The successful execution of these global services will require that the engineer adhere to internal processes while being open to challenges that may arise.  Engineers are accountable for the quality our customers feel when purchasing our services.  Areas of customer quality include accurate/timely documentation, appropriate/timely installation of instrumentation, accurate collection of field data, various site activities, and communications. 

Job Description

What you’ll do

 

  • Review commercial guarantees, test expectations/requirements, and develop performance test procedures with improved On Time Delivery and First Pass Yield   
  • Prepare, plan, and execute thermal performance tests of thermal power plants at the equipment level. 
  • Analyze data, calculate test results, diagnose and evaluate testing issues with improved accuracy / minimal rework 
  • Prepare test reports for internal and external distribution with improved accuracy / minimal rework 
  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding testing activities, schedules, and technical issues 
  • Support continued development and improvement of performance tools/processes 
  • Support new service development initiatives 
  • Lead Project Kickoff, Risk Review and Parking meetings 
  • Improved leadership of onsite testing activities, including resource and time management, and customer communication 

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering 
  • Completed training and demonstrated competence in performance test execution 
  • Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments. 
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics and thermodynamic cycles as they relate to power generation. 

**The position requires approximately 50% travel in 1 to 4 week intervals, to destinations around the world. ** This is an estimate; travel requirements vary, with peak outage seasons seeing higher percentages and peak demand seasons seeing less travel.**

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, The base pay range for this position is $79,400 - $119,000 per year.

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
