About the team
r2c’s DevOps team is responsible for the cloud infrastructure that unpins many of r2c’s internal and external applications, including our flagship products Semgrep Code and Semgrep Supply Chain. Our mission is to enable r2c’ers to effectively and confidently build, run, and manage their systems. We do this by providing a tightly integrated platform for going “from code to cloud” including CI/CD systems, Kubernetes on AWS cloud environments, and tools for operating software in production.
About the role
We are looking for an SRE-focused staff engineer and leader who is passionate about scalable, secure, performant, and reliable software.
Our goal is to competitively and fairly compensate every r2cer with a system that equally rewards those who are vocal and those who are less comfortable making demands during the final steps of the hiring process. To that end, we generate internal compensation bands that are used when discussing and negotiating salaries. We update these based on market data to make sure they’re above the average for comparable roles.

About the role
We are looking for an SRE-focused staff engineer and leader who is passionate about scalable, secure, performant, and reliable software.
In this role you will:
- Own major infrastructure initiatives end-to-end, from working with stakeholders to identify needs through implementation, onboarding, and maintenance
- Set strategic technical direction, working cross functionally with other leaders at the company to determine the evolution of our cloud infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to support them in building the best possible products
- Architect and build simple, maintainable, and extensible software systems
- Advise, mentor, and sponsor other engineers inside and outside the team
- Maintain the software systems we operate as part of our production platform
You are ideal for this role if:
- You have 7+ years of experience developing and operating production software
- You are familiar with AWS and Kubernetes
- You are passionate about improving the availability and reliability of software systems
- You know to work iteratively, fail fast, manage risk, and effectively respond to incidents
- You have experience leading complex initiatives and working across teams
- You are a thoughtful mentor and lifelong learner
Compensation
- Salary Range: $183,000 - $216,000 USD
- Our compensation package includes equity and benefits in addition to salary.
- Please note that the range listed is for someone based in the SF Bay Area or New York City. If you are located elsewhere, we adjust salaries based on location.
