During your shift as a Storeroom Operator, you will...

 

• Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the storeroom in the Cincinnati plant.
• Provide a reliable inventory of spare parts and technical materials for the maintenance mechanics and the production operators.
• Comply with BASF Procurement, Accounting, and Finance rules. 
• Drive continuous improvement strategies through cost control, standardization, and supply agreements. 
• Interact directly with production operators, technical personnel, mechanics, contractors, suppliers, sales and delivery personnel, and remotely with BASF procurement and support personnel across North America. 
• Maintain an accurate inventory by monitoring withdrawals and receipts, and entering the data into the SAP maintenance and procurement systems.
• Physically receive truck deliveries of storeroom parts and materials, open the boxes, verify the receipts against order quantity and item description, stock the storeroom shelves, deliver the materials to various plant locations, and update the SAP systems accordingly.
• Continually follow-up on open purchase orders to make sure they are in process and on schedule. Communicate via phone and e-mail with suppliers and internal procurement personnel about tracking orders, pricing, and errors.
• Perform weekly cycle counts of the storeroom inventory and report ledger adjustments to the site controller.
• Maintain the SAP Material Master. Create items in the SAP inventory system whenever new plant equipment gets installed and requires an inventory of spare parts.
• Continuously monitor the quality of incoming parts to make sure lesser materials are not being substituted.
• Report on slow-moving and obsolete parts for possible removal from inventory.

If you...

 

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have minimum two years’ experience working in a manufacturing plant, preferably as an operator or mechanic.
• Demonstrate good customer service and housekeeping skills. 
• Strong computer literacy: Windows operating system, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Lotus Notes database, SAP enterprise management system.
• Have a valid driver’s license in the event a trip to a local supplier is required.
