Our on-site Stinger Principal Program Quality Engineer (PQE) in Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS), will support U.S. and foreign programs within the Stinger portfolio at our Tucson, AZ location.
As the primary quality interface for the product Integrated Product Team (IPT), you'll ensure the program meets all Quality & Mission Assurance requirements. This includes coordinating with functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and overseeing scope of work through all integrated product development phases, from design to production and sustainment.
You'll develop and monitor quality metrics to drive proactive continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with integrated teams to enforce process rigor. You will support contract start-up activities, production support and sell-off support. You will primarily engage our factories and suppliers that aid the Stinger portfolio, implement quality processes to reduce overall product lifecycle cost and risk.
This is an on-site position in Tucson, Arizona.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.
- Be the Quality POC interfacing across factories, key suppliers and customers supporting technical quality and financial performance, and compliance with Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
- Develop partnerships with senior leaders, IPTs, customers, and quality support functions of the program team to define steps necessary to implement proactive quality strategies that shape Raytheon’s ability to become the provider of choice.
- Generation of new CORE (Customer Oriented Result and Excellence), CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) projects to reduce costs/increase efficiency of the Stinger program.
- Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
- Support issue resolutions and solutions to production.
- Support implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145, as applicable.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior experience.
- Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Working experience leading teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
- Working experience in providing technical program support for manufacturing and/or design processes.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Six Sigma, Lean, and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications

- Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Corrective Action Requests (CAR)
- Experience interfacing directly with customers
- Experience presenting, reviewing and/or approving changes through a formal Change Control Board (CCB).
- Experience with Product Test Equipment development and production implementation.
- Experience in risk mitigation and opportunity management.
- Experience translating system and contractual requirements, ensuring compliance is flowed down through product, assembly, and test documentation.
