Essential Job Functions

Properly load correct cardboard for cartons and dividers into former machine

Monitor forming process and dispose of any incorrectly formed cartons following disposal/recycling guidelines

Bail scrap cardboard during and at the end of the scheduled shift

Safe operation of bailer equipment

Remove banding from cardboard stacks and dispose of strapping using appropriate methods of disposal

Monitor and comply with all changeover requirements to eliminate carton waste

Assign with former changeovers by removing unformed cartons and stacking safety in designated areas

Minor maintenance with training – removes jammed cardboard, minor machine maintenance following all safe work practices

Perform quality checks including entering data into computer software proficiently

Fill glue holders

Excellent computer skill set regarding product check responsibilities

Strong communication skills regarding machine problems and quality requirements

Maintain clean, safe, and efficient workstations – dispose of trash in correct disposal methods (cardboard recycling, area cleanliness including used rag recycling). Area must be maintained throughout shift and final cleanup at end of scheduled shift

Ability to start equipment and identify basic mechanical issues

Follow all safety requirements including using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment – PPE (safety glasses, required footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, correct lifting methods, product disposal, etc.)

Support all changeover requirements of commodity product

All additional work tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum of high school degree or equivalent

Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience

Ability to stand and walk for periods of time

Able to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required

Basic math skill set

Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.)

Team building skill set and positive interaction with all levels within the organization and outside vendors/customers
