JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Working under limited supervision of the work unit Lead, the incumbent must have a general knowledge of maintenance trades (i.e. electrical, structural, carpentry and/or plumbing assemblies) with high-level skills and knowledge of Electrical systems, to effect repairs of facilities, machinery, mechanical equipment, and other related subsystems. Work is performed in accordance with pertinent guides and regulations.
- Install, maintain, or repair any variety of electrical equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
- Examine blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
- Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Use of hand tools, measuring, and testing instruments specific to the electrical trade.
- May provide work direction and or instructs lower level maintenance workers as required.
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
The incumbent demonstrates proficient high-level skills and knowledge of several technical disciplines within the electrical trade. Has competent knowledge and skills in mechanical, HVAC, structural, carpentry, and plumbing trades to perform maintenance of and effect repairs of facilities, machinery, electrical, mechanical equipment, and other related subsystems. Possess general knowledge and skills associated with closed circuit video systems, network access control systems.The incumbent should possess strong diagnostic skills to determine the source of trouble, malfunctions, and system design deficiencies. Be capable be conducting systems analysis, requirements analysis, design analysis, integration, testing, and validation of new and existing systems. Support engineering and technical evaluations to define technical problems, causes, and has the ability to create the needed solution necessary to complete the job.
The systems to be supported are comprise of, but are not limited to, power generation equipment, power distribution units, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), back up generators, multifueled, and portable power generators, dedicated mission heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), aircraft power systems (270 VDC, 28 VDC).
Incumbent has experience with dismantling or partly dismantling subsystems and effects repairs primarily using hand tools. Replaces defective parts with items obtained from existing stock. Performs work in accordance with pertinent guides and regulations. Prepares written specifications for major repairs or for production of required parts ordered from a machine shop.
In addition candidate may be required to perform other duties such as but not limited to; safety representative, section hazardous material monitor, after hour on call responder (potentially twice monthly), weekend duty as necessary, and other related duties as assigned or requested.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and completed training as part of a formal apprenticeship program. Incumbent must have five (5) years of directly related work experience with demonstrated proficiency in the Electrical base trade. Incumbent will have working knowledge of a second trade either through on the job training or continuing education. The incumbent must possess a working knowledge of the technical terminology and language structure related to a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment/systems supported by the work unit. The incumbent must have basic personal computer skills and knowledge of applications software and database usage sufficient to maintain records and files. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Position will require travel. The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
