Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Post Flight Data Processing Systems Engineering Section Manager 2. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel Program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

The selected candidate will be responsible for a Systems Engineering discipline Section within the SDS Systems Engineering organization and will report directly to an SDS Systems Engineering Department Manager. You will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of between 8 and 12 Individual Contributors (ICs) based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy. Key FHR responsibilities will be personnel performance management, process familiarization and training for Section members, as well as staffing of roles on projects.

As a Section Manager you will be expected to spend roughly 20% of your effort on Functional Homeroom responsibilities with 80% of your efforts focused on a technical assignment on an SDS project or IPT (80% technical scope not a part of the requisition)

What You’ll Get To Do:

• Grow, develop, and manage a diverse team of post flight data processing engineers

• Develop a system to receive and process flight test data from the testing range

• Lead development of software tools to manage and process flight test data

• Flight test data processing to include decryption, best bit selection, and quality analysis of raw flight test data

• System performance assessment, requirements analysis, verification and validation, design, development, and integration

• Create technical reports and present analysis results

• Interface with internal and external customers

• Perform root-cause analysis for out of tolerance and anomalous test data results

• People leadership for a systems engineering organization, to include performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning

• Working with program leadership to assess issues and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and program cost/schedule objectives as well as developing and maintaining metrics for monitoring the team's progress

• Managing cost accounts associated with assigned statement of work

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) with at least 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters

• Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (<6 years), with the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

• Experience generating, handling, processing, or analyzing test data

These Qualifications Are Nice To Have:

• Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.

• 3+ years’ experience leading systems engineering efforts
