About the role

Who We Are

Wayfair is home to one of the retail industry’s largest in-house creative agencies, composed of a world class team of designers, copywriters, stylists, editors, cinematographers, directors, producers and more. Our work fuels all forms of onsite and offsite marketing to and communication with our consumers, from TV and online video, to social, email, direct mail and in the near future physical retail.

The Creative Operations team within the Wayfair Creative Group is responsible for driving operational excellence at every step of the creative process — from initial brief intake all the way to final asset delivery. Our team is made up of project managers, producers, quality assurance and automation experts, and analysts, and our mandate is to keep creative projects on-time, on budget and on brief, all while fostering an environment in which creative quality and innovation can flourish.

The Role & What You’ll Do

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our in-house Creative Group. As the Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for defining, scoping and executing the full path to achieve objectives, determine the appropriate strategy and project plan in the short (weeks) to medium term (6 months). The projects and initiatives under your remit support Wayfair’s physical retail stores’ seasonal floorsets and the scaling of stores in North America. This role will support the Wayfair brand in addition to Wayfair’s four Standalone Brands (SAB): All Modern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main and Perigold.

You’ll collaborate with other Project Managers to inform our Physical Retail creative resource demand and prioritization of limited and shared internal resources (Graphic Designers, Copywriters, Motion and Illustrators). You will be responsible for project managing against our 6-month road map, holding the team and stakeholders accountable while ensuring projects are delivered on brief, on time, and in line with business goals and priorities. To do this, you’ll work closely with Production Managers, Creative, Visual Merchandising, Brand Marketing, Curated Merchandising and Retail Marketing.

This role requires a strong proactive individual who is inherently curious, acts with intentionality, and leads with a customer first mindset. Foundational to this role, the Project Manager is expected to own and identify initiatives that help to operationalize our processes, increase our efficiency, drive revenue, improve customer experience, and/or reduce costs on a meaningful scale for the business. We are looking for someone who pays attention to detail while overseeing multiple projects at once and different challenges that come your way. Someone who can work independently, within a team, in a constantly changing environment and matrixed organization. Besides your profound organizational skills you bring a strategic mindset that makes you capable to relate your work to the long term business objectives. Wayfair is a data-driven company, hence we expect you to be comfortable in using operational data to inform your planning and decision-making. Physical Retail is still considered a new channel to Wayfair’s business and with that comes ambiguity and constant change, which the Project Manager will need to navigate through with enthusiasm and limited guidance.
