The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF's overall performance. The department is committed to maintaining integrity and recognizing the company's successes, ensuring that BNSF remains a leader in the railway industry. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF's financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.
This is a full-time position located in Topeka, KS. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.
Travel is minimal, less than 10%
Key responsibilities may include:
Manage the rating piece of the revenue pipeline.
Perform controls to ensure rating quality and to lead and test projects for the many rating related or impacted applications existing throughout the revenue pipeline. The rating piece begins with the waybill instructions from the customer or foreign road, ends with the resolution of disputes, and includes everything in between.
Ehance the rating process with the ultimate goal of 100% automatic application of freight and accessorial charges for a shipment performed by BNSF and being 100% accurate with this application.
Interact frequently with BNSF marketing, technology services, customer support, waybilling, interline revenue services, accounts receivable, and our customers.
Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
- Associate’s degree with progress towards Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
- Minimum 0-1 year experience in finance-related field, as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and possess strong analytical skills.
- Well organized with attention to detail and be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Experience in the realm of data mining.
- Strong human relations and communication skil
