We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full-stack with a front-end focus to build intuitive and robust user interfaces that bridge the gap between complex technical solutions and real-world challenges. In this role, you’ll work hands-on to develop innovative B2B solutions, integrating advanced and AI-driven features that enable the delivery of data from our B2B partners to public safety and help protect individuals in emergency situations. You'll also play a pivotal role in driving architectural decisions, ensuring our interfaces are scalable and accessible.

What you’ll do: 

• Drive the architecture, design, deployment, and implementation of new features for our internal and external B2B products, that leverage React, TypeScript, and Python
• Lead strategic architectural decisions, help drive alignment, and optimize applications for performance, scalability, and accessibility
• Maintain and engineer intuitive user interfaces for public safety systems that integrate aesthetics with intuitive, user-centric interactions
• Identify opportunities to assess and enhance current applications, including refactoring code and upgrading technologies used
• Use best-in-class software development practices (unit tests, integration tests, performance tests, monitoring, detailed functional specification and test plans) to ensure RapidSOS' products remain highly reliable and fault tolerant
• Collaborate in an agile environment with stakeholders across Engineering, GTM, Design, and Product to develop solutions for RapidSOS products
• Actively participate in code reviews and standups, sharing knowledge, championing best practices, and contributing to the continuous improvement of team processes
• Own meaningful parts of our platform, have an impact, grow with the company

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate: 

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience as a front-end or full-stack engineer with deep expertise in React and 3+ years of experience with TypeScript
• Experience with modern CSS frameworks and libraries such as Styled Components
• Proficiency with ideally Python – proficiency with Go, node.js, Rust, Java, C++/C or a similar language will be considered with willingness to learn Python
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and delivering comprehensive end-to-end solutions in a cloud-based environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; is a team player with a positive attitude 
• Highly self-motivated; ability to adapt and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of ownership
• Strong proficiency in coding best practices – ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code 
• You are self-directed and enjoy solving difficult problems in a collaborative environment
• You are passionate about building and releasing software that serves a vital purpose; care deeply about the user experience and is able to quickly identify the optimal visual strategies to me
