About The Role

The Associate Director, Patient Access Analytics is responsible for analytics and insights around patient access and affordability across all therapeutic areas in the US.  These insights will help the organization understand the utilization and impact of our patient assistance programs, including free drug and copay assistance.  This individual will partner with the Patient Access Strategy and Operations teams to inform data-driven decision-making. 

This individual will also own the successful scope, execution and delivery of all payer reporting, analytics, research, and insights to support the Multiple Sclerosis(MS) business by working with internal colleagues within Market Access & Reimbursement (MA&R) and cross collaboratively with field teams, Brand, Patient Services, Finance, and Commercial Operations teams.

The individual will plan and execute market research to drive to insights to provide decision support for the organization. The individual will develop analytics and reporting that will provide insights into payer channel performance in MS and provide recommendations supporting short-term tactical decisions and long-term strategic planning. The individual will own and maintain suite of standard reporting within MA&R at the national and local level, including but not limited to formulary access in each channel, payer and channel segmentation mix, projected plan performance, and will lead insights activities in support of major strategic initiatives (e.g., pull through, ad boards, impact of public policy changes).

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct and maintain understanding of patient access landscape for Biogen and competitive products.  This includes copay (initial and final) exposure, patient affordability, free drug utilization, impact from patient affordability on fill and compliance rates
  • Perform analytics to monitor utilization and assess impact of Biogen’s patient support services
  • Maintain process and analytics to support copay maximizer and accumulator mitigation strategies
  • Conduct payer-related reporting, analytics, research, and insights work to support the MS business
  • Partner cross-functionally and participate in analysis and preparation of performance and opportunity assessments
  • Build and execute payer-related reporting and insight generation for account management and field reimbursement teams
  • Work with key stakeholders within MA&R and across functions to understand their business and triage and deliver effective solutions using various data sources

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years in pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry and/or strategic consulting discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of US healthcare reimbursement, payer, and access landscape
  • Familiarity with incorporating qualitative and quantitative inputs into projects
  • Ability to proactively deliver moderately complex analytical investigations and cross-functional projects with limited guidance
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to absorb and logically structure information into analytical deliverable outputs
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to work under tight timelines
