Real Estate Paralegal

About This Opportunity
As a member of Rockford’s Legal team, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and assisting with negotiations of real estate, investment, and financing documents, corporate organizational documents, and overseeing the due diligence activities on real estate transactions. The Paralegal supports Rockford Commercial Property Management, L.L.C., Rockford Development Group, L.L.C., and Rockford Companies, LLC - working with various departments within the organization and assist with all necessary legal documentation. This position supports the Grand Rapids, MI, Detroit, MI and Estero, FL office locations. The position reports to the Chief Legal Officer & VP of Legal Partnerships.

Requirements
- Associates degree and experience in real estate, finance, and corporate transactions; law firm experience preferred.
- Strong analytical ability to assess needs and offer solutions.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple assignments with overlapping deadline.
- Ability to work with team members at all levels within the organization.
- Must possess superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-player orientation and the ability to absorb information quickly and adapt to change.
- Must have a working knowledge of MS Office, including strong skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, electronic documents and DocuSign.
- Strong judgement and comfort-level working with confidential, sensitive and proprietary information, as well as uncompromised commitment to the highest level of confidentiality.
- A self-starter starter with excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills; high degree of initiative and intellectual curiosity.
- The ability to get along with diverse personalities and a desire to work in a cross-functional team environment.

Type of Environment
The work environment for this position is a mix of a typical office environment and visits to construction project sites. When in the office, the physical demands require the ability to sit for long periods of time. Intermittent movement will be necessary to perform requirements of the position such as accessing centrally located office equipment.

Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces.
