By owning the practices, processes, and tools, Product Operations creates the culture for the product organization. As the Product Operations Sr Manager, you will own major initiatives that will mold the FreeWheel product methodology for years to come. You will be a change agent, skilled executor, organization designer, and cultural champion. You will report directly into the Sr. Director of Product Operations. Key responsibilities will include owning the product roadmapping process and the tools associated with it, supporting the product organization cadence and practices, and empower product teams to succeed at their work.
Job Summary
The Product Operations team leads the product organization in developing best practices, propagating new ideas, and creating empowered product teams. From ideation through adoption, we are accountable for the processes and tools that product use to create world-class technology. Product Operations creates the conditions for success within the FreeWheel product team by being the catalyst for operational improvement.By owning the practices, processes, and tools, Product Operations creates the culture for the product organization. Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Own the Product Roadmapping process to ensure strategic product communications are valuable internally and externally
- Collaborate directly with the Product Commercialization & Strategy team to ensure the Product Roadmap content is clear and effective
- Enable the product team by maturing and evolving the product operating cadence – this includes leading all-hands meetings, coordinating team events, and organizing team development opportunities
- Directly liaise with the Business Operations team to ensure the product roadmap supports the operating plan and vice versa
- Drive product organization improvement initiatives and transformations across product and cross-functional stakeholders
- As the Product Operations team grows, this role will provide the opportunity for people management
- Influence the continuous evolution of software development processes
- Influence the product productivity stack including JIRA, Confluence, Aha!, etc.
- Coordinate with international counterparts in Europe and Asia
- Perform other duties and responsibilities necessary to support the product organization
About You:
Required:
- 8+ years of experience working within a product-lead organizations
- 4+ years working in Product Management, Product Operations, or an Operations function.
- A deep understanding of product management practices in a commercial, fast paced, global technology company
- A continuous learner who is continually invested in bettering themselves and exploring new operating concepts
- Expert at event planning, logistics, and coordination
- Experience with Product Roadmaps and communications
- Experience running change programs in complex organizations
- Feels a strong sense of ownership while solving problems
- Comfortable leading operational tasks ranging from organizing all-hands meetings, onboarding programs, and skill development classes across all different levels of stakeholders
- Easily builds trust with teams and individuals (both local and remote) through effective interpersonal skills and action-oriented execution
- Demonstrates comfort engaging with varied audiences from engineers to executives both written and verbally
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar experience
- Ability to attend off-hour conference calls occasionally to coordinate with counterparts in other time zones
- Ability to travel domestic and internationally periodically
Desired:
- Experience developing
- Strong working knowledge of Lean UX, Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, Agile, etc.
- Experience working at a B2B enterprise software company
- Background in Advertising Technology (AdTech)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SmartSheet, JIRA, Aha!, and Confluence
- Experience working with Objectives and Key Results (OKR) frameworks
- Based in New York, NY
