Senior Power BI Consultant

Valorem Reply is looking for a Sr. Power BI Consultant, to help us deliver enterprise-grade reporting solutions to our clients. This is not a report-builder position; you will be responsible for understanding and consulting on the entire Power BI Platform: modeling, deployment pipelines, REST API calls, security standards, graphic design best practices, capacity management, end-user training, CI/CD, etc. You’ll be collaborating directly with clients, so the successful candidate will be comfortable speaking in public for many audiences, from executive boards to data engineers.
This role will lead the creation of high-value analytics solutions leveraging Valorem Reply’s proven implementation methodology and solutions while leading and managing enterprise and mid-market projects, as well as technical pre-sales support activities as required. You will be responsible for designing solution architecture, assisting with solution requirement definition, and ensuring processes are followed by all members of the project team. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn the latest Microsoft solutions in a fast-pace, fun work environment. This position will work collaboratively across all Valorem Reply’s sales, service delivery and account management organizations in service to Valorem’s customers. 
This position will represent Valorem Reply’s approach to advanced analytics solutions and as such must demonstrate proficiency at the architecture level. This position will require an understanding of how advanced analytics are positioned to meet business objectives, how advanced analytics relates to business and enterprise architectures, and how to implement advanced analytic solutions through people, process and technology.  
Additionally the successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership in the field of advanced analytics, data sciences, and data analysis, and will also have a commitment to working across enterprises (both within Valorem and our customers), be familiar with the market challenges in multiple industry verticals, have experience with emerging technologies in advanced analytics and experience with non-Microsoft technologies.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

• 5-7 years spent daily in Power BI Desktop, PBI Service, and Admin Center
• Strong skills in analytical programming languages: DAX, T-SQL, PowerQuery/M, etc.
• Familiarity with 3rd party PBI tools: Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, DAX Studio, Vertipaq Analyzer, etc.
• Expertise in tabular model optimization, report design, data visualization best practices
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data modeling techniques, and the Microsoft Azure technology stack (Synapse, Databricks, and SQL)
• Data transformation technologies (Azure Data Factory, PBI Dataflows, etc.)
• Up to 10% travel to customer locations
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related field with a strong foundation in statistics.
