Compliance Assistant

General Position Summary:

Assists in the coordination and completion of all documents relating to Port Madison Enterprises’ regulatory compliance and assists fulfilling all Title 31 Compliance Program’s requirements under the direction of the Compliance Officer or the Compliance Manager.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the tracking, distribution, and analytics/trend analysis of PME Notification of Errors (NOE) and Tribal Gaming Violations to the appropriate department manager
  • Forwards and saves copies of NOE/Violation responses to Executive Management and Tribal Gaming Agency and updates relevant tracking logs
  • Reviews requested changes to Internal Controls, procedures, and/or rules as directed by the Compliance Manager
  • Assists in submitting requested revisions of Internal Controls and other compliance documents to Tribal Gaming for approval
  • Distributes approved documents to the appropriate manager
  • Assists the Compliance Manager in reviewing all Internal Controls and procedures to ensure compatibility and consistency
  • Assists the Compliance Manager with maintaining departmental procedures and training guides

Secondary Functions:

  • Assists the Compliance Officer with Title 31 Compliance Program’s auditing duties
  • Is cross-trained to perform FinCEN filing of CTRs and SARs
  • Maintains training documentation/reports and performs system user administration for Title 31 Compliance Program and other online training requirements
  • Updates master and/or digital copies of documents as approval is obtained
  • Provides support services to management staff, as needed or as directed
  • Serves as backup receptionist when requested and relieves for breaks
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Skills:

  • Ability to type 55 words per minute with no errors and effective 10-key utilization
  • Computer literate, knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database management
  • Ability to operate office machines, i.e., telephones, copy and adding machines, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Accurate and timely handling of assigned tasks
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or GED required. Some office training preferred.

Job Conditions:

Working conditions include working in an office setting with a computer, telephone, fax and other office equipment. Other working conditions may include working alone, or in a busy office with frequent interruptions. May have access to other management offices as needed to perform duties, as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

Manual and finger dexterity for operation of computers/other office equipment and routine paperwork. Ability to stand or sit for extended period of time. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
