Job Description:Proposal Development/Support
Lead and coordinate the development and submission of complex, multi-investigator proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and sponsor guidelines.
Provide strategic guidance on proposal structure, budget formulation, and narrative development, contributing to competitive and compliant submissions.
Develop comprehensive planning documents, presentations, and proposal timelines to support faculty and research teams throughout the submission process.
Create and maintain proposal development tools, templates, and training materials to build institutional capacity and support faculty and staff.
Oversee project milestones and deliverables, offering expert input on proposal content, formatting, and strategic framing.
Collaborate with the campus community to assess and integrate services, resources, and training initiatives that enhance proposal quality and research support.
Program Management
Maintain and analyze key performance metrics, statistical reports, and operational data to identify trends and inform process improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with UF Research’s Sponsored Research Division (SRD) to support strategic planning, faculty engagement, service utilization, and policy development aimed at strengthening the research infrastructure.
Contribute to ongoing quality assurance efforts by evaluating program effectiveness and recommending enhancements that support institutional excellence.
Program Development – Florida Semiconductor Institute
Plays a key leadership role in developing and maintaining a vision and strategic operational plan for the FSI. Conducts annual strategic planning retreats and utilizes information from retreat to develop and update the short and long term strategic plan.
Develop programs to enhance research instruction, creating professional development and workforce training opportunities-- building selective partnerships with industry leaders, government agencies, and academic collaborators.
Lead efforts to identify and secure external funding, including coordination of large-scale, interdisciplinary research proposals that position FSI as a national leader in semiconductor innovation.
Program Development - UF Research’s Institutes
Design and implement strategic initiatives that expand the research capabilities of UF Research’s Institutes, aligning activities with university-wide priorities and emerging opportunities.
Lead efforts in identifying and pursuing external funding sources, including federal and foundation grants, to support institute programming and infrastructure.
Coordinate the development of collaborative, large-scale proposals that promote interdisciplinary research and elevate the visibility of UF’s institutes.
Expected Salary:Commensurate with Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:Master's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.
Preferred:Strategist with excellent communication, strategic planning, critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills.
