A Brief Overview

Leads and manages multiple, large and complex cross-functional projects to establish and enforce operational and risk management standards, including processes, systems, controls and data. Provides leadership and direction on Program strategy, scoping and timeline to achieve regional objectives on time and within budget. Responsible for directing multiple project teams and collaborating with enterprise teams, regional business units and IT to deliver reliable, secure, controlled operational solutions in line with the business' growing and maturing needs.


What you will do

  • Lead and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to determine project deliverables and deliver meaningful business outcomes. Engage with cross-functional stakeholders within RGA (including Administration Operations, Claims, IT, Audit, Risk, Compliance and Legal) to ensure current and future work is aligned to meet the business’s best interests.

  • Perform an advisory role to senior management on Program strategy and key infrastructure decisions. Drive global and cross-functional decisions through proactive facilitation and dialogue. Develop and execute on highly complex and interdependent roadmaps and timelines.

  • Create and maintain the Program plan, showing an integrated realization of the key Program deliverables as well as Program timelines. Develop appropriate business artifacts, including but not limited to business requirements, test plans, business processes and decks.

  • Responsible for program reporting, monitoring, governance and stakeholder communication from C-Level Executives to cross-functional department heads.

  • Identify, report, mitigate and resolve key risks and dependencies between the various aspects of the Program. Facilitate conflict resolution, including escalations as necessary.

  • Plan and manage resources, ensuring all projects meet scope, quality and budget expectations. Facilitate prioritization and scheduling of team objectives and workflow.

  • Establish and facilitate meetings (communicate agenda, manage meeting time productively, accomplish meeting objectives, document action items and next steps).

  • Schedule and coordinate rollout, training and implementation of Program improvements and system deployments. Mentor staff on the Program team including, but not limited to, coaching, training, and evaluating.

  • Embrace a high level of change with competing internal customer expectations in a highly customer-focused environment.

  • Support enterprise rollout and lead regional adoption of enterprise standard tooling for portfolio, program and project management.

  • Proactively enforce and advance best practices and consistent Program management practices, policies and guidelines. Maintain current knowledge of industry practices, trends and applications.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience. required

  • Graduate degree and/or relevant professional accreditations. preferred

  • Extensive, demonstrated program and project management experience. required

  • 10+ Years business experience. required

  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred

  • Experience in implementing change, ensuring understanding, participation and ownership. required

  • Exceptional project leadership, project management, and/or program management experience. required

  • Expert knowledge of project management tools, including MS Office (e.g. Visio, Project and PowerPoint) and SharePoint. required

  • Exceptional communication, organization, planning, and execution skills. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders. required
