About the role

Summary

This opportunity at Rice Memorial Hospital is responsible for the Medical Oncology area in the Cancer Center.

  • Provides operational leadership to support patient and family-centered care model.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the department.
  • Provides leadership, coordination, direction and support of the department, hospital and CentraCare system goals and objectives.
  • Functions as a role model and supports an environment conducive to positive and collaborative relationships with all internal and external customers. 
  • Responsible for the recruitment, retention and development of qualified staff, which may include interviewing, hiring, monitoring performance and addressing corrective action of team members.  Conducts mid-year check0ins and performance appraisals for team members focusing on developmental opportunities.
  • Supports, implements patient safety, and other safety practices as appropriate. 
  • Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participates in professional organizations, subscribing to the reading professional journals or other appropriate activities.

Schedule

  • Fulltime, salaried position working 80 hours per two weeks.
  • Primarily Monday-Friday daytime hours.

 

Pay and Benefits

  • Starting salary begins at $92,934 annually
    • Full pay range $92,934 to $139,505

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Current licensure to practice in the State of Minnesota required.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse at time of hire or must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) current American Heart Association (AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card required.

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience with nursing expertise in the area of Medical Oncology.
  • Progressive leadership experience.
  • Possesses verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients/families, and community resources.
  • Previous experience in coaching, mentoring, leading and engaging staff towards positive change preferred.
