About the role
Summary
This opportunity at Rice Memorial Hospital is responsible for the Medical Oncology area in the Cancer Center.
- Provides operational leadership to support patient and family-centered care model.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the department.
- Provides leadership, coordination, direction and support of the department, hospital and CentraCare system goals and objectives.
- Functions as a role model and supports an environment conducive to positive and collaborative relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Responsible for the recruitment, retention and development of qualified staff, which may include interviewing, hiring, monitoring performance and addressing corrective action of team members. Conducts mid-year check0ins and performance appraisals for team members focusing on developmental opportunities.
- Supports, implements patient safety, and other safety practices as appropriate.
- Maintains professional competencies by attending educational programs, participates in professional organizations, subscribing to the reading professional journals or other appropriate activities.
Schedule
- Fulltime, salaried position working 80 hours per two weeks.
- Primarily Monday-Friday daytime hours.
Pay and Benefits
- Starting salary begins at $92,934 annually
- Full pay range $92,934 to $139,505

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) Current licensure to practice in the State of Minnesota required.
- Oncology Certified Nurse at time of hire or must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) current American Heart Association (AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card required.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience with nursing expertise in the area of Medical Oncology.
- Progressive leadership experience.
- Possesses verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients/families, and community resources.
- Previous experience in coaching, mentoring, leading and engaging staff towards positive change preferred.
