Technical Operations Engineer

Reporting into the VP of Engineering, the Tech Ops Engineer will work closely with the leaders of the Product and Engineering functions at MMIT to ensure the Software Engineering team is delivering effectively. This includes delivering what’s expected, on time, with right number and mix of resources and to budget. This role will be responsible for the reporting on and tracking of this information.

We are looking for someone with experience in operations or analytics roles, with great communication skills, high attention to detail, an analytic/statistical mindset and most importantly, the ability and willingness to keep learning in this ever-changing technology landscape.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Tech Ops Engineer, you will be expected to:

• Track capacity and output of multiple teams within a larger tech department
• Work on projects with significant complexity
• Use analytic and spreadsheet-type software to manage budget and headcount statistics
• Assistance in creation of new budget asks
• Have a strong sense of ownership of the solutions that your team works on
• Be proactive, and a self-learner.
• Communicate effectively; including the ability to present ideas and data to large audiences/senior leadership
• Be an excellent teammate, focusing on results, collaboration and winning as a team
• Be an "agile" person. You desire a fast-paced dynamic work environment

Requirements

• 3+ years in an Operations and/or Analytics based role
• Deep Excel and/or equivalent experience
• Experience managing and reporting on projects and/or teams
• Interest in working with complex data sets and analytic technologies such as Excel, Power BI, and Tableau
• Familiarity with agile software development practices
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including ability to present complex concepts to lay audiences, write analysis plans for projects, contribute to proposals / grant applications, pitch ideas effectively and persuasively
• Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively to solve complex problems and individually to research/advance areas of interest and exploration
• Proven ability to develop meaningful/valuable analytic insights from multiple data sources
• Experience with relational data models and concepts is a plus; specifically Microsoft SQL
• Experience within pharma/healthcare sector is a plus

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $45,000 to $115,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
