JOB SUMMARY:

The Logistics Lead supports the Warehouse Supervisor in the daily operations of shipping and receiving functions. Must have an eye for attention to details for this role verifies and maintains records of incoming and outgoing shipments and ensures items are prepared accurately for delivery using barcode scanning systems. The Logistics Lead upholds the highest standards of accuracy, timeliness, safety, and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Supervisor in coordinating daily warehouse operations for shipping and receiving.
- Direct and assign tasks to Loaders, Pickers, and Packers; provide performance feedback and disciplinary input to the Supervisor.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing identifying information against shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, invoices, orders).
- Maintain and manage inventory in the Partial Bundle Rack 01 area; generate labels, pull, and replenish inventory for order fulfillment.
- Pick and ship inventory using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method via barcode scanner.
- Prepare and load shipments per picking batches, ensuring truck loads, inventory, and documentation are accurate.
- Arrange parcel shipments compactly to minimize shipping costs.
- Verify that quantities picked match quantities invoiced prior to releasing shipments.
- Monitor and audit inventory accuracy by item, lot, and location. Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory checks, report discrepancies to the Supervisor.
- Operate forklifts to move, retrieve, and stage materials as needed.
- Fill in for absent employees in warehouse functions.
- Accurately complete and validate shipping paperwork.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas in accordance with AIB requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain good housekeeping on machines, floors, trash cans and waste according to AIB requirements.
- Provides teamwork by assisting in other departments as needed.
- Perform any other assigned duties or tasks requested by management.
PHYSICALS DEMANDS:
- Vision correctable to 20/20.
- Use of Logistics computer tracking systems
- Lifting up to 55 lbs. from floor to waist high.
- Frequent bending and stooping.
- Frequent climbing up and down ladders.
- Use a utility knife following prescribed safety regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of experience in Shipping and Receiving required
- 3+ years of experience on Lead position required
- Strong command of written and spoken English; basic math skills required.
- Use of computers and other logistics tracking tools
- Ability to read and interpret measurement tools and instruments.
- Forklift certification required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed in a production warehouse environment, with variable temperatures — hot in summer, cold in winter.
- Lighting conditions are generally good; however, some areas may require additional PPE.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required includes earplugs, eye protection, steel-toed footwear, hair nets, gloves, face shields, and other protective gear as appropriate when working around certain equipment or materials.
