Description

The Head of Risk and Compliance is responsible for leading and overseeing the organisation’s enterprise risk management, financial compliance and regulatory compliance functions, ensuring the development and implementation of robust frameworks and processes to identify, assess, mitigate and monitor risks across the business. The role ensures that risk management and compliance activities are fully integrated into the Nasstar’s strategic objectives and operational practices. It also involves horizon scanning for emerging risks, regulatory changes and market trends, providing insight to leadership to inform strategic planning and decision-making. Additionally, the role promotes a culture of risk awareness and regulatory adherence across the organisation while providing leadership, guidance and oversight to ensure business continuity, regulatory compliance and operational resilience 

Key Responsibilities

 • Risk Management and Treatment: Develop and maintain a robust enterprise risk framework to proactively identify, evaluate and mitigate organisational risks. Integrate risk management into strategic and operational decision-making, protecting the organisation and enabling informed leadership actions. 
• Financial and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, laws and contractual obligations, in addition to broader regulatory requirements. Build trust with stakeholders through transparent governance, controls, and clear reporting mechanisms. 
• Horizon Scanning and Insight: Monitor emerging risks, regulatory changes and market trends to provide foresight and strategic guidance to the leadership team, enabling proactive planning and informed decision-making. • Risk and Compliance Culture: Embed a strong culture of risk awareness, financial compliance and regulatory adherence across all teams, fostering accountability and proactive identification of risks and improvement opportunities. 
• Governance and Reporting: Deliver clear, actionable reporting to leadership and the board on risk exposure, compliance status, mitigation efforts and continuous improvement opportunities. Adapt frameworks to reflect emerging risks, regulatory changes and evolving business needs 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

•  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business, risk management, finance, compliance or related field. 
•  Professional certifications in risk management, compliance or governance (e.g., ISO 31000, GRC, ACA, or equivalent). 
•  Proven experience of relevant work experience in leading on risk management, financial compliance and regulatory compliance functions, preferably in a large organisation. 
•  Experience implementing enterprise risk frameworks and compliance programs. 
•  Experience in corporate governance, risk frameworks (i.e. ISO 31000) and regulatory compliance.
