Description

 

 The  Residency  Program  Director is responsible  for carrying out  the activities with  respect  to the  Department's  Residency  Program  and  maintaining  a  stable  academic environment. The Residency Program Director participates in decision and policy-making relating to operation and development of the Department's Residency Program. The Residency Program Director works collaboratively with UHCMC Management, the Department Chair, and the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) to operate a preeminent Residency Program. All services provided by the Residency Program Director must be provided in a manner that is consistent with the Medical Staff Bylaws and the Residents & Fellows Manual and the ACGME requirements.

 

Qualifications

 

  • At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  • Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

     

     

  • Credentials, Licensure or Certification i.e. RN, RRT):

  • Board-certified or Board-eligible in the State of Ohio

  •  Active Ohio Medical License in good standing upon effective date of employment
