Job Description

This position is responsible for carrying out Accounting Tech I duties in the Student Accounts Department.

The work schedule is open to 28 hours Monday through Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm.  This position is 100% on campus rotating between Centennial and Rampart Campus. 


This position is temporary part-time, not to exceed 28 hours per week, maximum 9-month assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Completed high school diploma OR GED
  •  One year of cashiering experience, OR a combination of related education plus relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assignment totaling one year.
Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Two or more years of cashiering experience, OR a combination of related education plus relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assignment totaling two years.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Cashier duties, process payments, determine proper account number to deposit receipts.
  • Balance credit card payments.
  • Balance daily batches by comparing the activity recorded on the system to the day’s bank deposit and reconcile any variances, prepare bank deposits by filling in deposit slips and filling in deposit log for tracking.
  • Balance bank deposits which are totaled and balanced weekly.
  • Communicate with students registered for classes the payment options, financial aid awards, or figure their portion due when they have tuition assistance.

  • Provide quality customer service to students responding to billings, payment plans etc.
  • Other duties as assigned of a similar nature and level.

  • Data entry, filing, and record keeping, general cashiering.
  • Ability to professionally interact with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and ability to use discretion in decision making processes.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team member to provide excellent customer service.
