About the Role 

The Staff Accountant role is integral to Brightline's financial integrity and efficiency. Responsibilities include processing vendor invoices and ensuring appropriate approvals, managing payroll for all Brightline employees, and preparing general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations. Additionally, the role involves effective communication with internal and external customers (vendors/fellow employees), timely resolution of discrepancies, collaboration with People Operations on personnel matters, and participation in month-end tasks/projects such as financial and workers' compensation audits.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Vendor Management & Invoice Processing:

  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Validate proper approvals before submission.

  • Collaborate with approvers for timely invoice approval

• Payroll Management & Support:

  • Process payroll for all Brightline employees - including full-time, part-time, and contractors.

  • Provide guidance to management and employees on payroll-related queries

• Account Reconciliation:

  • Conduct general ledger reconciliation tasks as part of routine accounting activities

• Expense Management:

  • Work with employees to address missing receipts for Airbase charges or any other expense discrepancies

• Project Assistance & Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with People Operations in managing personnel matters

  • Participate in month end tasks for financial statement preparation

  • Assist in projects including financial and workers' compensation audits

Compensation Philosophy

At Brightline we have built a total rewards philosophy that includes fair, equitable, competitive, geo-based compensation that is performance and potential based. Our strategy is based on robust market research, including external advisory specializing in national compensation, and thoughtful input from every level of our organization. It is a combination of a cash salary, equity, benefits, wellbeing, and opportunity. In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this role for applicants is $63,000 - $95,000.
