The Team:

The SME & Business Blueprint Engineering Organization is a part of Global Commercial Services Technology. Your organization will ensure a connected technology strategy to unleash the power of small business customer focused products and data-oriented solutions in support of the Global Commercial Services (GCS) Strategic Priorities. Your engineering team partners closely with the GCS Line of Business to deliver outstanding experiences, that includes a Small Business Ecosystem, Business Line of Credit and Business Checking Account.

The Role:

This Engineering Director reports directly to Andres Escobar, VP Engineering, Business Blueprint Platforms & BCA and will be based in New York City. Periodic travel to Phoenix, Atlanta, and other key offices is required throughout the year, up to 15% of the time.

In partnership with key Technology teams and Product colleagues, the Engineering Director is responsible for the delivery of all features and functionality on the Business Banking products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work with a team of talented, hardworking engineers to build and deliver the mobile roadmap

- Work closely with product development and strategy stakeholders to understand the product and customer needs; and enable the product and customer vision for the company

- Contribute to advance the Digital Banking Platform (DBP) to improve developer efficiency

- Responsible for the people management of co-located and remote engineering teams

- Cultivate an environment of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics

- Recruit best in class and diverse engineering talent from the industry at large

- Drive innovation within a fast-paced agile environment

- Collaborate with a wide variety of partners within business and technology teams to inspire change required to execute product roadmaps

- Coach, guide and promote the creation of high quality, clearly documented, and compliant deliverables across engineering teams.

- Collaborate within and across business units to prioritize, plan, and implement the development schedule for major product releases

Qualifications:

- Experience in software industry building customer facing products. Ideally this experience is in the Fintech space.

- Experience managing software engineering teams designing and building software products in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic software development environment

- Extensive hands-on experience building and managing the development of complex, large scale applications and products that require a deep understanding of application logic and dependencies

- Experience being a people leader, coaching, mentoring and guiding for highly talented technical teams

- Experience attracting, hiring retaining and leading top engineering talent

- Experience with Agile, Scrum or other rapid application development methodologies
