About the role

Training and Education Supervisor - Security will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive training programs for the security staff across all enterprise locations. This multifaceted role will involve delivering engaging security-related training, serving as a certified CPR instructor, implementing state mandated security instruction and managing training specialists to ensure consistent and high-quality instruction.

  • Ensure Compliance and Safety Standards: Integrate safety protocols and compliance requirements into all training programs to promote a secure and responsible work environment.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with security leadership, Human Resources, Training and other relevant departments to align training initiatives with organizational goals and operational needs.
  • Develop and Implement Security Training Programs: Design, create, and deliver engaging and effective training curricula for security personnel, covering topics such as security protocols, incident response, de-escalation techniques, emergency procedures, and other relevant areas.
  • Manage State-Mandated Regulatory Training: Develop, schedule, and deliver all required state-mandated regulatory training to ensure organizational and individual compliance. Track completion and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage and Develop Training Specialists: Supervise, mentor, and guide training specialists, ensuring consistency and quality in their instructional delivery and professional development.
  • Conduct Training Needs Assessments: Regularly assess the training needs of security personnel across all locations to identify knowledge and skill gaps and develop appropriate training solutions.
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Implement methods to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, analyze results, and make data-driven adjustments to improve learning outcomes and retention.
  • Maintain Training Records and Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all training activities, including attendance, certifications, and training materials, utilizing appropriate learning management systems or databases.

 

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in security leadership, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices. 1-2 years of experience in a training facilitator or specialist.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security operations, adult learning principles, CPR/First Aid instruction, and state/federal security regulations to develop and deliver effective training programs. Proficiency in LMS, needs assessment, curriculum development, management, communication, and record keeping are also essential for this role.
  • Current CPR/1st aid/AED instructor certificate Workplace Violence training Pass proficiency test in all posts Cultural diversity training Pass physical agility tests on a yearly basis Certified in FEMA & Homeland Security best practices Effective communicator & strong public speaker.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging security and safety training, including CPR and state-mandated regulations, while also managing training staff and resources effectively. 
  • Must possess strong communication, organizational, problem solving, and technological skills to assess needs, evaluate program effectiveness, and collaborate with stakeholders.
