The Opportunity

We are seeking a Junior AI & Search Solutions Developer to join our Firm. This individual will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of the Firm's intranet applications and AI-driven solutions. This role combines search technology implementation with generative AI integration, offering an exciting opportunity for a technology enthusiast to shape the future of our digital workplace. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated learner passionate about emerging technologies and eager to work at the intersection of enterprise search and artificial intelligence.

• Assists in developing and maintaining intranet applications and search solutions.
• Contributes to the implementation of AI-driven features and functionality.
• Develops and maintains web-based applications for the Intranet.
• Participates in AI solution architecture discussions and contributes innovative ideas.
• Participates in code reviews and implements feedback from senior developers.
• Documents code, processes, and technical specifications.
• Data preparation including cleaning, preprocessing, labeling and annotation for supervised learning and fine-tuning datasets.
• Collecting and organizing text data for prompt engineering.
• Collaborates with team members on department projects.
• Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Assists in testing and quality assurance of new features and applications.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Manages Firm resources responsibly.
• Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Python programming and its AI/ML libraries
• Understanding of retrieval systems and RAG
• Experience in large language models, prompt engineering and fine-tuning
• Experience with AI/ML technologies through coursework, internships, or personal projects
• Experience in AI-assisted software development
• Basic knowledge of relational database design
• Understanding of Git version control
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux required, with solid Linux experience preferred (SSH/WSL2)
• Experience with .NET framework a plus
• Knowledge of TypeScript and modern frameworks like React and Angular
• Basic understanding of UX principles and CSS
• Strong self-learning capability and drive to stay current with industry trends
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to independently research and propose solutions to complex problems
• Attention to detail and commitment to code quality
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to adjust hours as needed to meet project deadlines

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering disciplines, or other quantitative fields
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in software development
• Demonstrated history of self-directed learning and technology projects (can include academic projects, hackathons, or personal projects)
• Internship or project experience with AI/ML technologies is a plus
• Active participation in GitHub or other technology communities is a plus
