As Scientist, Oligonucleotide Analytical Chemistry, you and your team will play an important role in the analysis and quality control of GSK’s preclinical oligonucleotide therapeutics pipeline. You will develop and execute advanced analytical methods for a diversity of synthetic oligonucleotide modalities to help accelerate GSK’s pipeline and platform technology ambitions.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
Take part in the buildout of GSK’s state-of-the-art analytical chemistry lab in our growing Oligonucleotide Sciences group
Develop and deploy robust analytical methods to characterize novel synthetic oligonucleotides in low-and high-throughput settings
Use advanced LC/MS-MS capabilities to fully characterize novel synthetic oligonucleotides and related species
Help design and manage key data pipelines
Collaborate internally and externally, representing Oligonucleotide Sciences Analytical Chemistry on project teams
Support analytical investigations, including root cause analysis, in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Participate in hiring, mentoring and training of junior team members, ensuring knowledge transfer and capability development
May be responsible for the management of junior scientists or small team
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
BS with 5+ years, MS with 3+ years, of relevant experience.
Experience with modern mass spectrometry methodology and data analysis as it pertains to oligonucleotides
Experience in LC/MS method development and method troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
PhD with relevant experience
1+ years of experience managing laboratory scientists
Experience with high-throughput LC/MS(-MS) data acquisition and analysis
Experience with the LC/MS(-MS) analysis of small molecules and/or biologics
Exposure to modern LC/MS(-MS) data analysis platforms as it pertains to oligonucleotides
Exposure to other aspects of oligonucleotide drug discovery & development, including biology, bioanalysis, DMPK, delivery, etc.
Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
Familiarity working in cross-functional matrix project teams
