Job Description Summary
GE Vernova is seeking an experienced Engineering/Manufacturing Operations Leader to help establish and lead engineering and manufacturing operations for a new manufacturing facility supporting combined cycle power plant generators. This role will be responsible for driving the operational integration of engineering, manufacturing, process readiness, quality, and execution excellence to enable safe, efficient, and scalable production.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical and operational leadership experience in industrial manufacturing, rotating equipment, generator systems, or large engineered products. This individual will play a key role in building the operating framework, leading cross-functional execution, and ensuring manufacturing readiness from facility startup through sustained operations.

The Engineering/Manufacturing Operations Leader will have direct impact on facility readiness, operational performance, and long-term manufacturing success for generator products that support the global energy transition.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering and manufacturing operations activities for a new facility producing combined cycle power plant generators.
- Drive operational readiness across manufacturing processes, engineering support systems, tooling, work instructions, quality processes, and production workflows.
- Partner closely with product engineering, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, quality, EHS, planning, and site leadership to support facility startup and ramp.
- Establish robust manufacturing execution processes to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Lead cross-functional problem solving related to producibility, process capability, technical issue resolution, and operational performance.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are aligned with generator design requirements, specifications, regulatory expectations, and business objectives.
- Support introduction and industrialization of generator products, components, and associated manufacturing methods.
- Drive process discipline, configuration control, and engineering change implementation within the manufacturing environment.
- Develop and implement manufacturing support strategies for equipment, tooling, assembly methods, inspection plans, and production issue resolution.
- Partner with quality teams to ensure effective nonconformance management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Support workforce capability development by helping define technical training, standard work, and operational best practices.
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing and engineering performance indicators, including safety, quality, cycle time, throughput, and first-pass yield.
- Help build a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, lean thinking, and operational excellence.
- Provide technical and operational leadership during facility startup, process qualification, and production ramp-up.
- Interface with broader GE Vernova engineering and services teams to ensure alignment with product requirements, fleet experience, and customer expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, operations, or industrial engineering in a heavy industrial, power generation, rotating equipment, or similarly complex environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Position is onsite at the new manufacturing facility in Pensacola, FL, with travel up to 15% to other GE Vernova engineering, manufacturing, and customer locations as required.
- The successful candidate must be willing to work in a manufacturing environment and support facility startup activities. Availability for travel and schedule flexibility during ramp-up phases may be required.
Desired Characteristics:
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and driving execution in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Experience with manufacturing readiness, process development, industrialization, or new product / new facility startup.
- Strong problem-solving, operational leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
