Hinge Health Hybrid Model:We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Some roles which require a greater degree of day-to-day collaboration will benefit from more in-person opportunities. Employees in Hybrid roles are expected to be in office 1 day/week (Wednesdays) in hub locations that have an office, and may be expanded to 2 days in 2024.
About the RoleWe are looking for a dynamic Director of Accounting to drive our Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) readiness program, internal audit requests as well as be actively involved in accounting operations as needed. In this newly created hybrid position, you will play a critical role in ensuring SOX readiness while also having the capabilities to roll up your sleeves into daily accounting issues. Your expertise in running accounting processes and your understanding of SOX readiness will be instrumental in guiding our organization successfully into the future.

DESCRIPTION OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
- The ideal candidate will be someone who has successfully managed a SOX program in the past, including a year 1 SOX implementation. Additionally, this person is very familiar with accounting operations and has had operational accounting roles in the past. This person has the enthusiasm and passion to navigate a fast growing company in a rapidly evolving environment. Additionally, this candidate is hands-on and is willing to jump as needed to solve accounting issues. This person can also bring an understanding of best practices and is capable of incorporating these solutions to build out first class processes.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Lead the implementation of SOX, including compliance program documents such as the risk control matrix, financial statement scoping, narratives, etc
- Ensure controls are performed properly and consistently throughout the organization, and drive SOX testing
- Provide accounting operations leadership and support in key areas as needed, such as acquisitions and acquisition integration, special projects, etc
- Lead internal audit projects as identified and needed
- Identify opportunities to streamline, increase automation and rationalize controls and make recommendations to improve the underlying process and controls
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years in accounting operations including SOX experience, preferably within publicly traded companies. Successful track record of leading the SOX program and supporting accounting operations
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulations
- Meticulously organized and detail-oriented individual who has the ability to multitask; an independent and flexible problem solver who can cope positively with ambiguity while maintaining strong attention to detail and speed
- Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and clearly communicate technical accounting issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

- Extensive knowledge of Excel and G-Suite
