Job Responsibilities:

Education:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science (or a related field) with minimum 2 years of real-world experience.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with MSSQL and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Experience with Docker and Container

Assets (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Knowledge of .NET.
  • Familiarity with HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of MQTT and UNS protocols.
  • Experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as EKS and ECS.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, Windows Operating Systems, and Linux environments.

Experience:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in the analysis, evaluation, implementation, and support of application hardware, software, and security systems.
  • Experience working in both office and automotive manufacturing environments is an asset.

DUTIES:

Application Development & Support:

  • Program and develop tools utilizing Ignition software.
  • Handle the day-to-day analysis, design, implementation, testing, and integration of internal applications.
  • Learn, understand, and support various applications used within the plant.
  • Work closely with internal teams to advise on best practices for application development, enhancements, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Set development standards for languages, design, tools, procedures, and documentation in collaboration with Cosma.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of plant applications and databases.
  • Review and analyze multiple data sources to deliver actionable insights to the management team.
  • Work with various software tools to support the information needs of the plant.

Project & User Support:

  • Manage projects to ensure development timelines are met and stakeholders are informed of progress.
  • Train and support users on new applications, system changes, and upgrades.
  • Recommend external training resources and coordinate effective training schedules.
  • Provide on-call support for urgent work-related issues requiring immediate attention.

System Reliability & Coordination:

  • Ensure system reliability through effective use of redundancy, backups, and security protocols.
  • Coordinate with Cosma/Magna IT groups as needed to ensure alignment and support.

  • Comply with and model CBAM’s operational procedures/policies, the Employee Handbook, Magna’s Employee Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles.
