THE JOB:
The Senior Software Engineer II will play a key role in driving technological innovations forward. This position is primarily responsible for managing the end-to-end process of designing, developing, and delivering solutions that enhance customer experiences. This includes creating high-quality, production-ready code across all phases— from vision and planning to execution, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Develop and execute production-grade code through all phases: planning, execution, deployment, and sustainment.

• Collaborate with Product Management to enhance customer experiences and align with business goals.

• Partner with technology leadership to adopt new technologies that improve platform performance.

• Ensure consistency, reliability, and observability across services.

• Utilize Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot to build scalable solutions.

• Leverage Azure and AWS for cloud-based deployment and management.

• Communicate effectively to solve challenges and drive team collaboration.

• Analyze tradeoffs to deliver simple, intuitive products.

• Build relationships with cross-functional teams and gain trust at all levels.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.

• 8+ years of prior relevant experience delivering commercial cloud and backend software products and services at enterprise to internet scale or experience in a related area.

• Experience in software development in a production environment (Java, C++, Spring)

• Experience with distributed computing, enterprise-wide systems, agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and DevOps culture with distributed teams.

• Strong understanding of all software layers (UI, service, data store, communication).

• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.

• Solid foundation in computer science principles: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.

• Awareness of current technology trends to inform technical design and development standards.

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills for effective communication with business contacts.

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or equivalent platforms.
