COTA Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective occupational therapy interventions under OT supervision

  • Implement individualized treatment plans to improve patient mobility, strength, and function

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and grooming

  • Support patients in regaining independence and improving quality of life

  • Monitor and document patient progress and modify care plans as needed

  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques and safety strategies

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, including OTs, PTs, nurses, and SLPs

  • Participate in care planning and progress discussions

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations

  • Deliver therapy services in a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered manner

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school with an associate degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Certification by the State of Wisconsin to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
