Job Functions: 

Our Tuscaloosa, AL facility to looking for a Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for performing machine maintenance and repair for all plant equipment. The technician will follow the direction of the Maintenance Manager and complete work orders in an efficient manner. This will be a Mon-Fri day shift position. Please attach a resume

 

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

• Ability to follow safe work practices in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations
• Installs and repairs mechanical components including power drive systems, gearboxes, belt and pulleys, rollers, bearings, blowers, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic components.
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical components on machines and support equipment.
• Perform upgrade projects on old obsolete equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, predictive maintenance, etc. on all production equipment, utilities, building/grounds etc.
• Occasionally work from elevated surfaces such as booms, scissor lifts, and ladders.
• Identify hazards and advise management of dangers associated with operating equipment in current condition.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime.
• Must be willing and able to be in a crew rotated on call schedule for nights and weekend coverage.

 

 

Job Skills: 

 

• Strong mechanical skills. Must have the following skills:

• Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Strong experience in metal fabrication and welding.
• Proficient in using shop tools including drill press, bandsaws, bearing pullers, taps and dies, and all general industrial shop hand tools.
• Pneumatic and Hydraulic troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of industrial pipe and fitting systems.
• Compressed air system experience.
• Must be detail-oriented and organized.

 

 

 

• Basic electrical skills including the following:

• Basic understanding of electrical drawings and circuits.
• The ability to use basic electrical hand tools.
• The ability to troubleshoot and replace basic electrical components including lights, fuses, and common component failures.
• Must be willing and able to learn electrical skills with OJT.

 

Required Experience: 

 

 

• Must have a positive attitude.
• 5 years in industrial maintenance related field or military equivalent.
• Must be computer literate with the ability to learn and preform task in SAP.
• Good organization and communication skills.
