Position Summary

The Ld. Director, Specialty Pharmacy Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy & Integration is an engaging and innovative leader who provides strategic vision and direction to transform Specialty using AI and Intelligent Automation.

The Director will leverage their technical, product management and operations expertise to develop strategy and drive execution of all AI strategies in Specialty to deliver value for CVS Specialty and CVS Health. The Director will collaborate with enterprise cross-functional teams, analyze business operations, develop, and manage a strategic roadmap, and lead a team of approximately 8 colleagues directly and/or indirectly.

The Director is accountable to lead the creation of a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with CVS Health and CVS Specialty’s goals, focusing on clinical, operational and customer value. In addition, the Director will identify opportunities for AI applications in improving workflows, patient care, growth through new sources of value, cost, and efficiencies.

The Director is accountable for the roadmap development and execution which includes developing, maintaining, and prioritizing the AI roadmap that balances short-term wins with long-term innovation. The Director will also collaborate with stakeholders to identify high-impacts AI projects across various complex tiers in the specialty pharmacy and opportunities for specialty pharmacy based on work being done across the enterprise.

The Director must be able to effectively influence and communicate with non-technical and technical audience using facts and well-reasoned cases.

Required Qualifications

1. 10+ years of healthcare experience.

2. 5+ years of cross functional leadership experience.

3. 7-10 years of experience leading complex IT & business projects or initiatives, including stakeholder management, executive reporting, budgeting, and driving value.

4. Expertise in leveraging technology to transform work processes from developing strategy to execution.

5. Strong knowledge and experience of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation strategy and execution.

6. Strong knowledge of advanced analytic tools and languages to analyze large datasets and data sources

7. Required ability to successfully manage many high priority initiatives simultaneously through direct work and leading others.

8. Strong ability to communicate verbal and written technical concepts and implications to business partners and senior leadership to drive alignment.

9. Proven leadership and mentoring skills, including experience building and fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

10. Possess ability to make critical decisions and act upon them; re-position strategies as necessary to provide win-win scenarios.

11. Adept in working cross-functionally with internal business units to define root cause and resolve issues including strong aptitude for Technology and workflow processes.

12. Key knowledge of industry – AI, Intelligent Automation, Data & Analytics, PBM, Specialty or retail pharmacy

Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer science, analytics, economics, engineering, and/or related discipline.

Preferred: MBA, MS, PhD.,

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
