SUMMARY

As a Clinical Registered Nutrition Specialist, your expertise and knowledge will be used for designing and implementing individualized medical nutrition therapy and working collaboratively with other disciplines to optimize nutrition care and patient experience. This position will cover in the ICU along with adult acute care coverage.

STATUS: Full Time, 40 Hours              

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital        

DEPARTMENT: Food and Nutrition

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, days and rotating weekends     

ATTRIBUTES

  • Registered Academy of Nutrition Dietetics (A.N.D.) License as a Registered Dietitian (RD) is required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (A.N.D.) accredited program is required

  • A minimum of two (2) years of acute clinical experience is preferred 

  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory requirements for nutrition care

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and computer skills 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessment. Complete nutritional assessments for all patients; provide input into Nutritional Support Service rounds for assigned patients; monitor and document patient progress

  • Nutritional Therapy Planning. Provide recommendations for formulations, rate and volume for all tube fed and TPN patients.  Instruct patients and families on special diets and general good nutrition.

  • Patient Care. Develop plan of care per clinical data, interview, diagnosis and treatment goals; provide oversight to dietetic technicians providing patient care

BS (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist - Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
