Position Summary
Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated Intern. The Intern will be responsible for assisting the (End User Services/Applications Teams / Information Technology) in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of the department’s projects. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced information technology environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s IT offerings. The role will focus on the successful completion of technical projects, process improvement, documentation, and presentation of results at the end of the program.
Project Summary
- Development Workflow/Automation enhancements to Plug’s new Service Desk tool in alignment with audit requirements
- Development of Life Cycle Replacement Program (including requirements, reporting, testing and vendor assessments)
- Development of CMDB in Service Desk system
- Development of a centralized asset tag/tracking system of all IT End User assets, with potential to expand to Infrastructure assets
- Optimization of Onboarding/Offboarding process
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of primary Plug IT Tools: Active Directory, MS 365 Admin Consoles, Dameware, Service Desk, Zscaler, RSA.
- Learn multiple EUS processes and provide improvement/optimization recommendations : Onboarding, Imaging, Offboarding
- Leveraging ITIL standards to formulate enhancements in Service Desk (building out Configuration Management Database)
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Qualification
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data or comparable studies.
- Prior Internship or Co-op experience preferred
- Must have reliable transportation to the office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Background/experience with ITIL
- Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Excellent follow-through
- Must be driven and self-motivated
- Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
