Clinical Mentor (RN) Emergency Department

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a full time experienced Registered Nurse Clinical Mentor to work with Emergency Department (ED). This role is Sign-on Bonus & Relocation assistance eligible. 

Inova Fair Oaks Emergency Room is a 34-bed emergency services facility recently renovated and expanded to serve patients, both adult and pediatric, more efficiently. Emergency medical care is provided by board-certified physicians from Virginia Emergency Medical Associates (VEMA).

Responsibilities: 

• Develop expertise in training, coaching and mentoring staff through the promotion and delivery of high-quality nursing care.
•  Orient, educate and develop nursing staff to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities. 
• Provide support to novice and advanced nurses and preceptors to ensure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment.
•  Integrate knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the clinical and social adjustment needs of all team members.
• Participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression from novice to proficient nurse for new or existing clinicians.

Requirements:

• Hours: Full time nights (36hrs/week); Open to any shift times and structure as long as majority of hours are after 3p.
• Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License
