As a Program Coordinator, you will play an integral role in supporting two nationally recognized law school centers while collaborating with faculty, students, donors, alumni, and external partners. Your organizational expertise, commitment to service excellence, and ability to coordinate complex programs will help advance scholarship, teaching, and public engagement within the Duke Law community.
In this role, you will support the Center for the Study of the Public Domain and the Firearms Law Center, serving as a key contributor to program administration, faculty support, research initiatives, and educational activities that enhance the student and faculty experience.
Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Manager of Academic Services.
Work Schedule: Regular full-time position (40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year).

What You'll Do
Program & Center Operations
- Coordinate and administer a variety of programs, conferences, workshops, projects, publications, events, and center activities.
- Secure event venues, coordinate logistics, develop schedules and agendas, and prepare communications and materials.
- Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and external partners to ensure successful program delivery.
- Monitor and track program activities, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Evaluate program effectiveness, gather participant feedback, and recommend improvements to enhance outcomes and engagement.
- Conduct research on trends and best practices in legal education, conferences, and professional programming.
- Track, verify, reconcile, and process expenditures, reimbursements, grants, and funding allocations.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with grant reporting requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, students, donors, sponsors, alumni, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate public records requests, including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) inquiries, and prepare reports summarizing findings.
- Provide guidance and support to students related to scheduling, information gathering, and report preparation.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, committees, workshops, and special initiatives.
- Manage calendars, travel arrangements, websites, listservs, and other communication platforms supporting the centers.
Faculty, Instructional & Administrative Support
- Support faculty with teaching and course administration activities.
- Prepare, format, edit, and distribute course materials in both electronic and print formats.
- Upload assignments, course content, and instructional resources to learning management systems.
- Assist with exam administration, grade processing, and course evaluations.
